MODESTO — Today, Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) joined county leaders at the San Joaquin County Ag Center to tour their vaccination site ​for food and agricultural workers and ​discuss needs in the agricultural community. After the tour, Rep. Harder spoke about the importance of ensuring access to vaccines for our frontline farmers, ranchers, food and ag workers, and presented the County and the San Joaquin Farm Bureau ​with certificates of recognition for their critically important work ​supporting outreach to the agricultural community.

Despite high school graduation rates above the national average, rural students are less likely to both attend college and complete their degrees than students from suburban and urban areas.

Social vulnerability levels were calculated by race, education, poverty, housing, and other factors.

WASHINGTON — Today, Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) sent a letter with Rep. Jerry McNerny (CA-9) requesting new federal funds for the Lower San Joaquin River Flood Risk Management and Feasibility Study projects. The $36.5 million in requested funds would go toward the Army Corps of Engineers and San Joaquin Area Flood Control Agency's critical flood damage reduction efforts.

WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Josh Harder (CA-10) voted to pass the Farm Workforce Modernization Act which would provide a smart and humane solution to the temporary farm worker system in the Central Valley. The bill will give farmers a strengthened source of necessary labor by giving qualified farmworkers the chance to earn visas, improve the H-2A visa program to help our dairy industry, and give agriculture workers a chance to come out of the shadows and get right with the law. The agreement has the support of agriculture, immigration, and labor groups.

WASHINGTON — Today, Representative Josh Harder (CA-10), an original co-sponsor of the legislation, voted to pass H.R.6, the Dream and Promise Act, which will give the thousands of Dreamers in the Central Valley a path to lawful permanent residence and American citizenship. The bill also includes protections and a path to citizenship for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) recipients and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) beneficiaries.
