Modesto, CA – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) today sent a letter to State Superintendent Tony Thurmond and Governor Gavin Newsom asking that the state of California prioritize staffing of mental health professionals during the Coronavirus Pandemic. With students at home and missing normal social and educational opportunities, Rep. Harder wants to ensure mental health is considered a top priority as the state develops and implements its plans for the school year.

Modesto, CA – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) today announced that his office has now saved constituents $3,001,426.00 in government benefits or mistaken bills from government agencies. Members of Congress typically focus specifically on issues with federal agencies, but with extended unemployment and significant issues with the California Economic Development Department (EDD), Rep. Harder's office team expanded to help people cut through red tape at that state agency.

WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) today announced that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will invest $2,334,992 to help continue Migrant Head Start programs in the Central Valley. The Migrant Head Start program provides comprehensive early childhood education and general health and nutrition assistance to primarily children of migrant and seasonal farmworkers.

WASHINGTON – After Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) led an effort to make California eligible to receive federal funding to eradicate invasive nutria, the House of Representatives passed legislation that allows the state to apply for millions of dollars in federal funding to combat the pest. The bill also increases the total amount allocated to three programs through the Fish and Wildlife Service which help states and local residents combat invasive species, including the nutria.

Without additional assistance, thousands of people in Rep. Harder's district could miss rent or mortgage payments and experience other long-term impacts on their financial security. As leaders in Congress and the White House collaborate to find a final deal, Rep. Harder is committed to reaching a bipartisan resolution.

Modesto, CA – In response to concerns from county and state fair leaders, Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) is introducing the Protecting Fairs During Coronavirus Act. The bill would create a new emergency grant program to help offset the massive revenue losses our fairs are experiencing because of health care measures taken to combat the Coronavirus Pandemic. Hundreds of thousands of Californians attend these fairs every year and generate approximately $3.5 billion in annual economic impact.
