WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) and California State Senators Anna Caballero and Cathleen Galgiani have written a letter to the Small Business Administration (SBA) asking the agency to take more deliberate actions to support childcare centers in the Central Valley through the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). The loss of these centers disproportionately disadvantages women, who are more likely to have lost their jobs during the Coronavirus Pandemic.

WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) will introduce the Protecting Students from Cybercrimes Act, a bill which would provide grants to help local school districts harden their cybersecurity infrastructure to protect their students and creates funding for apprenticeships and career opportunities for students interested in careers in cybersecurity. Although schools are planning to reopen, students will have the option to continue partial distance learning. This will leave students even more exposed to possible hackers.

WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) released the following statement after the Supreme Court ruled that the Trump Administration acted illegally in eliminating the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program which protects 10,000 Dreamers in Rep. Harder's district from being deported. Rep. Harder will hold several events with local Dreamers over the coming days to hear stories and share information on the implications of this decision.

WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) sent a letter to Education Secretary Betsy DeVos and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin demanding that their agencies stop illegally garnishing tax refunds from Americans with student loan debt. Although the CARES Act legally prohibited the Treasury from taking tax refunds from borrowers through at least September 30th, the agency took an estimated $18.8 million according to a class-action lawsuit.

WASHINGTON – After the Trump Administration announced it would not release economic projections as part of its "mid-session" budget review this summer, Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) introduced the Budget Transparency Act, legislation which would force the assessment to be included in the budget and released to the public and lawmakers in Congress.

Modesto, CA – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) today announced a total federal investment of $11,579,704 to help Central Valley communities combat homelessness during the Coronavirus Pandemic. The funds were authorized in the CARES Act and are being distributed through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Homeless Emergency Solutions Grant program. Funding includes $4,326,957 for San Joaquin County, $3,891,785 for Stanislaus County, and $3,360,962 specifically for the City of Modesto.

WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) has been awarded the Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America Award by the United States Chamber of Commerce for his support of policies which protect America's free enterprise system. Rep. Harder is one of only 24 members of the House of Representatives who earned this distinction. Rep. Harder received a 98 percent score for his support of pro-business policies during his first term in office.
