Water is the lifeblood of the Valley. And yet politicians are trying to build the Delta Tunnel to ship our water down south. The lawns in Beverly Hills don’t need that water, our Valley farms and economy do. It’s a water grab that would crush our community. .
We have to stop the Delta Tunnel and instead invest in water infrastructure so our Valley communities can continue to thrive. .
My Plan:
- Stop the Delta Tunnel: Water is our most precious resource, we have to protect it.
- Boost Storage: Increase our water storage to save for dry years.
- Spark Innovation: Invest in new technologies to improve our water systems.
- Update Infrastructure: Fix our outdated water infrastructure.

WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Harder called out Sacramento politicians and the California Department of Water Resources for trying to ship the Central Valley’s water south while causing “significant and unavoidable” impacts on Delta communities.

Over 1/3 of the Central Valley’s water comes from the snowpack, but so does nearly 100% of the flood risk
After the recent blizzard, snowpack levels for the Northern Sierra shot up to 114% of the normal level, and snowpack for the Central Sierra is at 101%
WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder just reintroduced his Securing Access for the Central Valley and Enhancing (SAVE) Water Resources Act. The bill provides a wraparound approach to addressing water issues facing the Central Valley by increasing storage opportunities, spurring innovation, and making long-overdue investments in our aging water infrastructure.
WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder recently secured $10 million for the Los Vaqueros Reservoir Expansion Project Phase II, which will improve water supply and protect wildlife refuges in the Central Valley. Since stepping foot in Congress, Rep. Harder has secured over $100 million for water projects - which is the largest investment in Central Valley water storage in the last 50 years.
