WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) today announced that the Department of Transportation (DOT) has agreed to his request to provide robust federal funding for the Sierra Northern Railroad's track improvement program. The railroad will receive $17,415,000 to fund 55 miles of track and safety improvements through the Department's Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements (CRISI) Grant Program.

Harder highlighted the issue by sharing his own personal story of being a "late bloomer" in reading. He further questioned DeVos on her decision to either eliminate or significantly reduce funding levels for every literacy program funded by the Department of Education.
