WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder released the following statement urging Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) to double down on their public engagement to ensure our communities are prepared in the face of potential multi-day power shutoffs resulting from dangerous wildfire conditions. Rep. Harder's office has been in communication with PG&E and is very concerned with the possible shutdowns and what it means for families in Manteca and Ripon.

WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) has asked President Trump to reconsider additional tariffs on Chinese goods, including printed goods from China which would increase prices on Bibles. More than half of the Bibles produced in the world originate in China because of the specialized printing processes involved. Unless Bibles are excluded from the tariffs, churches, religious schools, and other organizations would be forced to pay more for scripture.

WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) has asked Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to address new retaliatory tariffs on almonds with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a reported meeting next week. Rep. Harder's district is one of the largest producers of almonds in the country, and India is the top export destination for the product.

WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) today announced legislation to eradicate and control the population growth of nutria, colloquially referred to as "swamp rats," in the Central Valley. Nutria are an invasive species from South America that have caused millions in damage to swamplands in Maryland and Louisiana.

WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) announced $750,000 in funding from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation for a new water treatment plant and transmission main line to the cities of Ceres and Turlock. The new plant is part of a joint project between the Stanislaus Regional Water Authority, the Turlock Irrigation District, and the cities of Turlock and Ceres, and will make available an additional 5,600 acre-feet of water.

WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) is reintroducing the bipartisan Encourage New Legalized Immigrants to Start Training (ENLIST) Act, which would allow Dreamers to serve in the military and earn Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) status, also known as "Green Cards," for their service. Rep. Harder's Republican predecessor, Rep. Jeff Denham, wrote the legislation and worked to earn majority support for the bill in the last Congress.

The event will begin at about six o'clock PM Pacific and last approximately an hour. During the telephone town hall, Rep. Harder will answer questions in real time and offer assistance to folks who need help with federal issues.
