WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) in a letter opposed the appointment of Robert Marbut as the next Executive Director of the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH). Marbut has served as a consultant to various cities, advising them on housing issues, but opposes the proven "housing first" model – a policy that has been supported by Republican and Democratic Administrations – which ensures people have a safe place to stay without tacking on additional obstacles.
WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) today voted to pass the bipartisan Telephone Robocall Abuse Criminal Enforcement and Deterrence (TRACED) Act, legislation he also cosponsored. The bill will allow federal authorities to fine spam callers up to $10,000 per call, require phone companies to create screening technology to prevent spam calls from reaching Americans' phones, and create a joint group of federal agencies and other non-federal entities that will assist Congress in future efforts to crack down on scam calls.

The bill will allow the families of fallen and critically injured servicemembers to end their phone, cable, or internet contracts without being financially penalized. Ohio Republican Brad Wenstrup joined Rep. Harder to introduce the bill.
