WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) today announced that the Department of Transportation (DOT) has agreed to his request to provide robust federal funding for the Sierra Northern Railroad's track improvement program. The railroad will receive $17,415,000 to fund 55 miles of track and safety improvements through the Department's Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements (CRISI) Grant Program.

WASHINGTON – Representatives Josh Harder (CA-10) Chellie Pingree (ME-1) and Jeff Fortenberry (NE-1) today introduced the Kids Eat Local Act, a bipartisan bill which would cut red tape and allow local schools to buy local foods. Federal regulations make it difficult for schools to give preference to local farmers when buying food for school lunches.

WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) today announced the introduction of the No Health Care, No Raise Act, legislation which would prevent Congress from receiving a pay raise until everyone in the country is enrolled in comprehensive health coverage. This year's funding bill for the Legislative Branch includes a $4,500 raise for members of Congress.

WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) today celebrated House passage of the Dream and Promise Act, legislation to give over 10,000 young immigrants in the Central Valley a pathway to citizenship. Rep. Harder was an original cosponsor of the bill, which would protect qualifying Dreamers who could be removed from the United States after the president ended the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in 2017.

WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) is asking state and regional water boards for answers after residents voiced concerns about Trichloroethylene (TCE) contamination of the city's water supply, including potential threats posed by TCE vapor. TCE contamination of Ripon's groundwater dates to the 1970s when Nestlé Inc. used the chemical to extract caffeine from coffee and discharged the untreated water into the city's sewers.
