WASHINGTON – After Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) led an effort to make California eligible to receive federal funding to eradicate invasive nutria, the House of Representatives passed legislation that allows the state to apply for millions of dollars in federal funding to combat the pest. The bill also increases the total amount allocated to three programs through the Fish and Wildlife Service which help states and local residents combat invasive species, including the nutria.

Modesto, CA – In response to concerns from county and state fair leaders, Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) is introducing the Protecting Fairs During Coronavirus Act. The bill would create a new emergency grant program to help offset the massive revenue losses our fairs are experiencing because of health care measures taken to combat the Coronavirus Pandemic. Hundreds of thousands of Californians attend these fairs every year and generate approximately $3.5 billion in annual economic impact.

WASHINGTON – In response to the explosion of scams during the Coronavirus Pandemic, Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) introduced the Protecting Seniors from Scams Act, which would help Congress and federal regulators crack down on fraud committed against senior citizens during national emergencies. The FBI has warned that over 11,000 scam incidents have been reported since March – a 100 percent increase since the same period of time last year. Older Americans are often the target of these scams.

Brett Guthrie (KY-02), Cheri Bustos (IL-17), Filemon Vela (TX-34), and Billy Long (MO-07). The bipartisan bill aims to improve college access and success for rural students by spurring innovation and investment in new strategies to prepare them to complete their credentials and step into high-demand jobs in their communities.
