WASHINGTON — Today, Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) called on the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Biden administration to expedite the creation of their new Child Tax Credit online tool after significant issues with on time payment delivery. The second Child Tax Credit payment, which was supposed to hit families' bank accounts in recent weeks, has faced significant errors and delays due to technical issues at the agency.

WASHINGTON — Today, Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) is demanding both the bipartisan infrastructure package and the budget reconciliation package be passed without any tax increases for working families. Presently, California families have the 4th highest individual income tax burden and the 10th highest total tax burden in the country. The average household in Stanislaus County pays about $8,000 a year in taxes alone.

WASHINGTON — After a months long push by Representative Josh Harder (CA-10), the Department of Labor (DOL) recently announced it has begun distributing the $2 billion it was allotted in March to help unemployment agencies like EDD implement desperately needed reforms. Rep. Harder voted to send $2 billion to the DOL through the American Rescue Plan to help states prevent unemployment fraud, promote equitable access, and ensure timely payment of benefits.

WASHINGTON — Today, Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) announced that Valley Consortium for Medical Education will receive $1,180,431 in new federal funds to continue their work training medical professionals in the Central Valley. Valley Consortium is a non-profit based out of Modesto that delivers first class training for residents and medical students throughout the Central Valley.

WASHINGTON — In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month this September, Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) is launching his second annual Latino Leadership Awards. The award will honor a member of the Latino community for their contributions to the Central Valley. Rep. Harder is inviting his constituents to nominate a Latino community member of any age or profession who has made a positive impact on the Valley. Candidates must be of Latino heritage, live in the 10th Congressional District, and have contributed to the community in a way that has inspired others.

WASHINGTON — Today, Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) led a successful effort to include resources for farmers impacted by drought and wildfire in the bipartisan 2020 WHIP+ Reauthorization Act. Currently, the Wildfire and Hurricane Indemnity Program Plus (WHIP+) can only provide direct assistance to farmers who experienced crop loss due to qualifying natural disasters in 2018 and 2019. Rep. Harder's language will open up funds to farmers who have lost crops to drought, fire, and other natural disasters in 2020 and 2021.
