Early Head Start serves pregnant women and families with children under the age of 3

WASHINGTON – Today, Representative Josh Harder announced the Stanislaus County Office of Education will receive a $2,977,201 grant for its Early Head Start program. Early Head Start provides comprehensive child development and family support services to infants and toddlers and their families, as well as to pregnant women and their families. Early Head Start builds off the larger Head Start program, which serves over 68,000 students and supports more than 30,000 jobs across California.

“The Central Valley is the greatest place in the world to start and raise a family. I’m dedicated to bringing all of our new moms and dads the resources they need to start their child off on the right foot,” said Rep. Harder. “Today, I’m proud to announce that we’re bringing home nearly $3 million in federal funding, which will help serve young families across our community.”

Rep. Harder is also a proud champion of the Head Start program. Earlier this month he announced a grant of more than $17 million for Central California Migrant Head Start. Read more about the program here.
