Award Recognizes Only 20 Members of the House for Supporting Policies that Protect American Businesses

WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) has been awarded the Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America Award by the United States Chamber of Commerce for his support of policies which protect America’s free enterprise system. Rep. Harder is one of only 24 members of the House of Representatives who earned this distinction. Rep. Harder received a 98 percent score for his support of pro-business policies during his first term in office.

“Business is my business – I spent years growing small companies from a couple guys in a garage to national businesses with hundreds of employees,” said Rep. Harder. “The Central Valley needs more jobs, and I’m proud to be working hand and hand with our local businesses to make that a reality.”

The Chamber of Commerce determines which members of Congress will receive the award based on their support or opposition to important bills the Chamber considers highest priority. Members of Congress are ranked relative to the performance of all other members of their party, with the top ranked in both parties earning 100 percent. The 10 top scoring senators and 20 top scoring House representatives (apportioned by party) earn this award. More information on the award is available here.

Representative Harder has also received recognition from the nonpartisan Town Hall Project for his commitment to accessibility. In addition to these awards, Rep. Harder is the most bipartisan member of the House of Representatives based on the number of bipartisan bills he supports.
