Josh Harder Statement on Congress Electing Mike Johnson as Next Speaker of the House

WASHINGTON – Today, Representative Josh Harder (CA-9) released the following statement on Congressman Mike Johnson being elected as Speaker of the House after 21 days since Kevin McCarthy’s ousting.

“Frankly, it’s embarrassing that 21 days passed without a Speaker of the House of Representatives. This is an opportunity for Congress to get its act together and actually get back to work. The new Speaker, Mike Johnson, better be ready to roll up his sleeves and focus on what matters because costs are still skyrocketing, crime is out of control, and our families can barely afford their health care.”
