February 24, 2022

Award recognizes Harder’s laser focus on delivering affordable and accessible health care to Central Valley families

WASHINGTON – Today, Representative Josh Harder announced that he has received the National Association of Community Health Centers' 2022 Distinguished Community Health Advocate Award. The award recognizes members of Congress who have supported community health centers in their districts.

"I'm honored to receive this year's Distinguished Community Health Advocate Award," said Rep. Harder. "Our health care workers are heroes and I'm committed to doing everything I can to support them. I look forward to continuing to stand alongside them as we work to make sure every family in the Valley has affordable health care close to home."

Throughout his time in Congress, Rep. Harder has been laser focused on delivering affordable, accessible health care to every family in the Central Valley. This year he secured more than $10 million in federal funds for local health care programs including expanding youth mental health programming in 22 schools and training more doctors in the Central Valley. He has built a bipartisan coalition of more than 60 of his colleagues supporting his bill to bring 10,000 doctors to California over the next ten years. And he's visited with local health centers to hear directly from Valley doctors and nurses how he can support their heroic work.
