Harder Offers Official Commemorative Pins to Vietnam War Veterans During 50th Anniversary Commemoration
Harder is Official “Commemorative Partner” for Historic Anniversary
WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) is inviting all veterans who served during the Vietnam War, regardless of duty station, to contact his office to obtain an official Vietnam Veteran pin. The Department of Defense is leading an effort to honor all Vietnam-era veterans dring the officially-observed 50th anniversary of the war. Rep. Harder is an official "Commemorative Partner," and has been authorized to distribute pins. His office will hold a dignified ceremony on Veterans Day to honor interested Vietnam Veterans.
"A lot of Vietnam Vets were treated really unfairly when they got back from serving our country – this commemoration is meant to honor their service the way it should have been back then," said Rep. Harder. "It will be my honor to present so many of our local veterans with this honor on Veterans Day."
Veterans are not required to attend the ceremony to obtain a pin. Any veteran who can prove they served during the war is eligible for the pin. Rep. Harder contacted every veteran in the district this fall to offer assistance with benefits and to make them aware of the commemoration. Interested veterans should contact Katie Jaycox with Rep. Harder's office for more information: 209-579-5458.
Rep. Harder will host a public pinning ceremony to honor all interested veterans on Veterans Day at Modesto Junio College. Additional information on the event will be provided in advance of the ceremony.
