Harder to Host Webinar for Teachers with Library of Congress, Smithsonian Institution
Modesto, CA – Next week, Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) will host an informational webinar to provide teachers with free additional resources to help them effectively adapt to distance learning and give them resources for the non-traditional school year. The Smithsonian Institution and Library of Congress will join the event to discuss the resources they have created for teachers during this difficult time, including the Smithsonian’s learning lab and distance learning resources.
The event will take place on Tuesday, August 18th from 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM Pacific Time. Interested teachers can register for the event at this link.
“We’re all trying to get through this pandemic the best we can – especially our teachers who are entering the strangest year of their careers,” said Rep. Harder. “Our teachers were trained to teach in a classroom – and they need support to adapt to this new environment. I’m looking forward to hearing from teachers and bringing some additional resources to bear.”
The event will include opening remarks from Rep. Harder as well as instruction by Ruki Neuhold-Ravikumar, the Acting Under Secretary for Education for the Smithsonian and Kathy McGuigan, Education Specialist at the Library of Congress. A flyer with more information is available here.
Representative Harder has hosted two telephone town halls with the Stanislaus and San Joaquin County Superintendents to provide students and teachers with up to date information and give them the opportunity to ask questions about the upcoming year.
