October 16, 2019

Event Will Feature Experts in Social Security and Medicare, Phone Scams

Nearly Half of All Phone Calls This Year Expected to Be Scam Calls

WASHINGTON – On Monday, October 21st at 11:00 AM Pacific – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) will host a live telephone town hall to give Central Valley seniors an opportunity to make their voices heard and get help with federal issues. Rep. Harder has invited federal representatives from the Social Security Administration and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to discuss earned benefits and a representative from the Federal Trade Commission to discuss phone scams.

Constituents can call into the event at 1-844-881-1317 or sign up to join here. Members of the media are also invited to call into the event.

In August, Rep. Harder hosted an in-person town hall with local seniors in Turlock. However, his office received feedback from some seniors who were unable to attend the event. This telephone town hall will provide the opportunity for even more seniors to ask questions of their representative and get help with federal issues.

Rep. Harder is one of the most accessible members of Congress in the country. Since taking office in January, he has hosted seventeen in-person town halls, three telephone town halls, and a Facebook live town hall. He has also given constituents the opportunity to meet with him one-on-one at seventeen different office hours events across the Central Valley.
