Modesto City Marching Brigade will travel to Washington DC next year to represent the Central Valley in the National 4th of July Parade

WASHINGTON – Today, Representative Josh Harder congratulated the Modesto City Marching Brigade for winning a place in next year’s National Spirit of American Independence Day Parade on July 4th, 2023, in Washington DC. The parade is sponsored by the National Park Service and will commemorate the 247th birthday of our great nation. Earlier this year, Rep. Harder’s office opened nominations for local marching bands to represent the Central Valley in this historic event.

Congratulations to Modesto City Marching Brigade on this incredible nomination. As a former band kid myself, I’m incredibly proud of this group,” said Rep. Harder. “Our Valley has some of the smartest and most talented students in the world, and I can’t wait to see them represent us in next summer’s Fourth of July Parade in our nation’s capital. Our whole community will be watching.”

The Modesto City Marching Brigade represents several high schools from Modesto City Schools including Beyer HS, Downey HS, Enochs HS, and Gregori HS. It is led by Richard Winkler, Beyer Band Director and Rogelio Garibay, Enochs Band Director.
