Harder Announces $59,000 Grant for Modesto City–County Airport

December 15, 2021

Grant was funded by the American Rescue Plan which Harder voted to pass into law earlier this year

WASHINGTON — Today, Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) announced that Modesto City-County Airport will receive a $59,000 grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The grant is paid for by the American Rescue Plan Act, which Rep. Harder voted to pass into law this March. The grant will go toward operations, personnel, and cleaning at the airport, another important step toward updating the Central Valley's infrastructure. This year alone, Rep. Harder has secured over $450,000 in federal FAA grants for airports in California's 10th Congressional District. These investments are critical to fixing California's supply chain and bringing prices down across the Central Valley.

"Our local airports are an essential piece of the Valley's supply chain and every dollar we can deliver to keep them up and running counts. Funding our airports means more goods at lower prices for our families and opportunities for our local businesses to connect with markets outside of the Valley," said Rep. Harder. "When I voted to pass the America Rescue Plan in March, I promised to make sure as many dollars were delivered directly to our Valley as possible. This grant is yet another win for our community."
