San Joaquin County Doctors Can Now Apply for Public Student Loan Forgiveness

Starting July 1, 2023, California doctors who practice in a public hospital or nonprofit are eligible for public student loan forgiveness (PSLF) through the Department of Education.

ELIGIBILITY:

• 10 years and 30 hour/ week practicing in an eligible public hospital or nonprofit clinic
• Total of 120 qualifying monthly payments made on exsiting student loans, need not be consecutive.
• Direct Subsidized Loans, Direct Unsubsidized Loads, Direct PLUS Loans, Direct Consolidation Loans
