Rep. Harder’s goal in Congress is to fight for the priorities of the Central Valley. Too often the Central Valley is left behind when it comes to federal funding, which means our communities don’t always receive the investments they deserve. As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, Rep. Harder is working to change that by bringing more federal dollars back to the Central Valley and making sure that local voices are heard in the spending decisions made in Washington.
Appropriations Requests: The Appropriations Process is the annual process through which Congress allocates funds to a wide range of programs. Rep. Harder believes this process should be open and transparent to his constituents and welcomes your input on program funding allocations that would have a positive impact on the district. Your suggestions will help Rep. Harder advocate for the programs that best serve the needs of our community. To submit an Appropriations Request for a program or project that is eligible for federal funding, please click HERE.
The deadline to apply for Appropriations Requests is 6pm EST/ 3pm PT, March 21, 2021.
Community Project Funding: This year, the House Appropriations Committee announced a new Community Project Funding initiative to allow Members of Congress to target federal funds towards projects and programs that will address the most significant needs facing the communities they represent. This is separate from the traditional Appropriations request process. This program is highly competitive and should be reserved for projects that would be transformative for CA-10. State or local governmental grantees and most non-profits are eligible. For-profit recipients are not eligible. Further details on eligibility and the application process can be found HERE.
