HEALTH CARE FUNDING: Harder Announces $2.75 Million for Stockton Community Medical Centers

WASHINGTON – Today, Representative Josh Harder (CA-9), a member of the powerful House Appropriations Committee, announced that $2,725,173 in federal funding is headed to Community Medical Centers in Stockton to support their operations and ensure they can continue providing high-quality, affordable medical care in Stockton. CMC is a network of non-profit health centers providing medical, dental, behavioral health, and supportive services.

“Nothing is more important than the health and safety of our families. Community Medical Centers in Stockton provides important care to folks, and they’re a lifeline for our community,” said Rep. Harder. “No one should have to drive for hours or wait months to get themselves or their kids in for a medical appointment. I’ll keep fighting to support CMC centers and make sure everyone in San Joaquin County can see a doctor when they need to.”

Last month, Rep. Harder secured $500,000 for CMC to build a regional Adolescent Health Center in Stockton. Today’s announcement builds on Rep. Harder’s work to protect access to health care in San Joaquin County, bring more doctors to the Valley, and expand the health services available in Stockton.
