WASHINGTON – Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) released the following statement after voting to pass legislation to provide supplemental support to small businesses and to increase testing.

“We can’t afford to let any of our small businesses go under. Too many local businesses weren’t able to access the relief they needed in the first round of funding. We also fought to improve these programs to make sure farmers can get access to the funding. A lot of our farmers have already lost contracts from schools and restaurants – so it’s a big win we got them included.

“And we finally got a meaningful national testing program so we can start to get more people tested and on the path to re-opening our economy.

“However, Mitch McConnell refused to include help for state and local governments who are struggling through this crisis. Budget shortfalls could mean layoffs and serious cuts to services we all rely on like firefighters and law enforcement. It’s clear Mitch McConnell has been in Washington too long.”
