Harder Reacts to CDC Report Ranking California Among Worst States in Getting Vaccines to Vulnerable Populations
WASHINGTON — Today, Representative Josh Harder released the following statement in reaction to a recent CDC report that placed California 44th among 48 surveyed states in distributing vaccines to counties with the most socially vulnerable residents. Social vulnerability levels were calculated by race, education, poverty, housing, and other factors.
“For months now I’ve been calling on our state to distribute vaccines to the hardest hit communities instead of the richest and most politically connected ones. Today, we have evidence that shows just how far we still have to go,” said Rep. Harder. “Our Valley has been left behind for far too long, and I won’t stop pushing until everyone in our community has access to the vaccine.”
