Harder Demands Federal Government End Delay, Provide Central Valley Mass Vaccine Site
WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Josh Harder (CA-10) called on the federal government to immediately clarify when and if a mass vaccination site will be coming to the Central Valley. In his afternoon press conference just now, Gov. Newsom announced that the federally-funded mass vaccine site he previously announced in the Central Valley is currently on hold. Other states, he said, were, “a little upset” that California was going to receive the Central Valley vaccination site and caused the delay.
“It is absolutely unacceptable that once again the Central Valley is getting left out to dry when it comes to vaccines. I’m fed up with the broken promises,” said Rep. Harder. “Frankly, I don’t care what other states think when it comes to our community. Our state is more than just San Francisco and Los Angeles, and it’s time that we send resources to the hardest hit communities in the state instead of the wealthiest and most politically connected ones.”
