After voting to keep the government open, and in response to reports of the President’s declaration of a national emergency, Rep. Josh Harder (CA-10) issued the following statement:

 

“Today both parties came together to keep the government open. It’s not a perfect agreement, but it avoids another shutdown and contains smart and practical reforms we need to secure our border.

Washington DC—Today, Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) became a co-sponsor to H.R. 1, known as “For the People Act.” This is the first piece of major legislation undertaken by the new Congress, and it is Rep. Harder’s first step in keeping his promise to fight the corrupting influence of dark money, strengthen voting rights, and instill stronger codes of ethical conduct in Congress.
