The Coronavirus is a once-in-a-generation crisis, and it’s already wreaking havoc on our families’ day-to-day lives. The news is scary, and a lot of folks have more questions. Here are some resources to help you as we all figure out what comes next. DO YOU NEED HELP AFFORDING GROCERIES?
If you need help paying for groceries you can apply for CalFresh benefits. In order to receive CalFresh from Stanislaus or San Joaquin County, here are some of the general requirements you must meet in order to be eligible.

A resident of Stanislaus County or San Joaquin County

Citizen or Lawful immigration status (such as Legal Permanent Resident (LPR), Alien Registration Card, visa) or certain noncitizens

Income eligible household

Provide or apply for Social Security Numbers for all household members

Willingness to provide all requested verifications
You can apply online at C4Yourself.com or print out an application at www.cdss.ca.gov to mail into the county.
ARE YOU UNABLE TO WORK BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO STAY HOME WITH YOUR KIDS?
If you can’t make it into work because you have to stay home with the kids, you may qualify for Paid Family LeaveApply here: https://edd.ca.gov/Disability/How_to_File_a_PFL_Claim_in_SDI_Online.htm
How can I get access to the internet for telework or remote learning?
Comcast is taking steps to help connect low-income families to the Internet at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. You can now get two months of their New Internet Essentials service for free, which is available to all qualified low-income households. Apply by April 30, 2020.
